Strange fruits!

No silly! These are bonus roses, they're neither fruits nor strange. LOL

And these are the new Pelargoniums I got today (the two left ones)

They're neither fruit nor strange...

...just pretty

Now we're getting somewhere though! Tomatoes ARE actually considered fruits and I guess that, as fruits, they're a bit strange compared to apples and pears, but not strange enough. LOL

Some of them are very small, but that's not strange enough

And some of them are fuzzy (???) and have strange shapes...

... but even that isn't enough

There's also A LOT of them, but we're talking strange fruits...

... not strange AMOUNTS of fruits

These are the strange ones though!!! Care to guess what they are???

Have your ever seen anything like this before?

There's a lot of these as well!

I WILL of course reveal their identity another day if you can't guess. LOL

You have beautiful plants Fia! Okay, lets see if I can guess right for that last strange one. Could it be a type of chilly plant, or perhaps an egg plant?

Nope, that's not it. I'm not actually sure you can eat these, but I will collect the seeds for next year.

The third and fourth pics from the bottom up...are they perhaps kiwi fruit..or are they also not for human consumption...

I am still amazed at the last two pictures. They look almost like pea pods too..but that would make them edible... You really got me guessing now. I must research some more methinks! lol

No the third and fourth from the bottom are my unripe "Yellow Pear" tomatoes. They look a bit strange for tomatoes but other than that there's nothing weird about them.

And no, not pea pods. (I didn't get that many peas this year and I've already eaten them all. LOL)

Good luck with your research. I've never seen this "plant" actually grow "fruits" before but obviously they do, otherwise you wouldn't get seeds from them. But this is not something you usually see, so I'm not sure you'll find that many other photos of them.

My brain has gone dead now, and I have exhausted all avenues... (think)... It looks like a type of runnerbean, but obviously not edible?
I have googled and looked at so many plants now, I actually feel a little more educated, LOL! But, alas, you have me stumped with this one.

You poor thing! LOL I will reveal their identity in an update later. I promise!

I actually don't know if you CAN it the fruits, I've never heard of any one eating them at least (I'd never heard of the fruits at all before) but you CAN eat other parts of the plant, it's even grown for eating purposes. (And I HAVE mentioned it before in my blog)

Ahhhh!! YES! YES! I looked at your other entries in your blog...

Is it Radish perhaps? (fingerscrossed)

Annefia said...

Yay! You got it rigth in the end. It IS radish fruits! I've NEVER seen radish fruits before. My radishes are strange. LOL

Actually, we get radishes here, although but I dont eat them. They are VERY bitter and I dont particularly like them. Ours turn red actually, and are extremely hard. They look a little different to yours grown there.

I am interested to see what yours will turn out like too!

It's not that the South African radishes look different from the Swedish ones, its that my radishes turned REALLY strange. LOL They were supposed to look exactly like the ones you showed, they just didn't turn out like that AT ALL. LOL I've never seen radish act like these before.

I didn't know radishes could do that - but then it's logical they can if the roots aren't eaten before they get to that point.

I think they look really cool though.
